Hi, I am Sarah, a proud survivor of mental health disorders. I am sharing my journey because I hope it will inspire others to take theirs. We often look at wellness as having a healthy body, but we seldom talk about a healthy mind. The truth is, mental health is just as significant, if not more so, for our overall well-being.

Several years ago, I started noticing changes in my behavior. I was losing interest, feeling low, and would worry excessively about everything. Lack of sleep and constant fatigue added to my troubles. My professional and personal life started to collapse, and I didn't understand why.

One day, an online quiz pointed towards a possibility I hadn't considered - I might be suffering from depression and anxiety. It was a wake-up call for me.

Although nervous, I decided to consult a mental health professional. Upon diagnosis, it was confirmed - I was suffering from an anxiety disorder and clinical depression. The news was distressing, but it also brought relief because I finally had an answer.

Thus began my journey towards recovery. With therapy, medication, mindfulness, patience, and unconditional support from my loved ones, I fought my mental demons. Everyday was a new challenge, but every challenge overcome was a victory.

My recovery became my driving force. Soon, the days felt brighter, the nights more peaceful. My confidence echoed in my work. I rekindled lost relationships and felt the joy of living. In my fight against mental illness, I rediscovered my lost self.

Mental illness changed my perception of life. Fighting it made me stronger, empathetic, and more accepting. Today, I am not just a survivor but an advocate for mental health awareness.
